New Perth Branch to Open - Summer 2019

RW Bell Electrical, which currently has units in Pitlochry and Aviemore will begin trading from its new facility in Ruthfield Avenue on Monday.

Stephen Carruthers, managing director at the firm said that taking on new premises was not an expansion of the business, but was aimed at increasing the company’s footprint where many customers lived in rural areas.

He said: “We already have a good customer base in Perth, and this means that we will be able to provide a faster service, but we also want to increase the amount of work we do in the area.”

The firm previously opened a facility in Aviemore, which had a staff of one, but now employs five.

Mr Carruthers said: “We hope to replicate the success of our Aviemore operation, but in reality it was a standing start there, while we already have an established client base around Perth.

The firm currently employs a team of 55, including 15 apprentices.

The Pitlochry based business, who successfully expanded into Aviemore three years ago, are delighted to have secured new premises at Perth’s Inveralmond Industrial Estate.

The new unit at Beech House, Ruthvenfield Avenue is being headed up by company director Alan Smith who also oversaw the Aviemore expansion.

“We have been searching for the right premises for a while, and the Inveralmond unit fits the bill as it provides direct access North, South, East and West,” said Mr Smith.

“The decision to open in Aviemore has been rewarding and while we have ongoing projects in the North of Scotland, and even the Hebrides, much of our work is carried out along the A9 corridor and into Fife. It makes sense to have a branch in Perth because of its central location”

“We will be able to offer a faster response and even better service to our customers new and old in the city and beyond with boots on the ground.”

“There’s a great deal of potential in Perth and the surrounding areas”

When Tayside contractor McGills ran into financial difficulties, R W Bell Electrical brought on board experienced foreman Bruce Cuthill.

Bruce will be playing a key role in the Perth set-up alongside Alan Smith.

Bruce is well known across the region, having played hockey for Scotland and Mezieshill. Now a respected coach, he amassed a record 200-plus indoor and outdoor international caps in his playing career and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Perth outfit.
